ASX Release 1st July 2009 Hamilton James & Bruce Moves Up Listed recruitment company Hamilton James & Bruce (HJB) is pleased to announce it has signed a Deed of Surrender with the parties concerned on behalf of the Sydney Exchange Centre. Negotiations with the Receivers and Administrators on behalf of all stakeholders of the Sydney Exchange Centre Building (ASX Building) have resulted in HJB being released from its ongoing liability for the Level 11 premises in the Sydney Exchange Centre Building which are surplus to requirements and have not been able to be subleased. HJB has space on Level 12 in the same building and has moved up effective July 1 2009.

Deborah Wilson, Chief Executive Officer said "We have made no secret of our intention to unlock ourselves from the heavy burden of Level 11 and Level 12 premises over the past 2 years. This lease was signed at a time when the recruitment industry was a very different place. We are a leaner and more cost efficient organisation now than we have ever been before.

Removing the ongoing lease obligations for Level 11, 20 Bridge Street, (1500 square metres) puts us in a much healthier financial position moving forward. The premises at Level 12 are actually more suitable for our requirements. Our staff will enjoy large, light open plan areas, still in the heart of Sydney's CBD, and close proximity to our target market, being Executive Recruitment.

Personally, I couldn't be happier with the outcome and outlook. It's a great win for us and one that is a result of much hard work on behalf of our team here at HJB.
