Great Southern Ltd. is engaged in the development, marketing, establishment and management of agribusiness-based projects. The Company is a plantation forestry company and in the five commodity producers for beef cattle, wine grape, olives, almonds and poultry-chickens. The company’s hardwood plantations are focused on the production of woodchip for the pulp and paper industry of Japan. During the fiscal year ended September 30, 2007, Great Southern has expanded its forestry operations into the establishment of African mahogany and teak plantations in northern Australia. The Company produces olives and has established both organic and conventional olive groves in Western Australia to the north, east and south of Perth. In August 2007, Great Southern acquired Canberra-based agricultural funds manager Rural Funds Management Ltd.
