Sydney Gas Ltd is engaged in coal seam gas (CSG) exploration, evaluation, development, production and marketing of its coal seam gas projects in the Sydney Basin. In November 2005, the Company entered a 50/50 Joint Venture (JV) with AGL Gas Production (Camden) Pty Limited to drive CSG development across its assets and permits in New South Wales. The Camden Gas Project is operated by AGL Gas Production (Camden) Pty Limited. The JV is completing development in Stage II of the Camden Gas Project and exploring in Stages III to V for potential CSG production. The Hunter Project is in the exploration phase. Exploration outside Camden Gas Project and Hunter area is operated by the Company on behalf of the JV. In May 2007, it began the core hole drilling in the Hunter region to determine primarily the thickness gas composition, gas content and gas saturation of the main seams penetrated. Its subsidiaries Sydney Gas Operations Pty Ltd and Sydney Gas (Camden) Operations Pty Ltd.
