Zinifex Limited is a base-metal mining, exploration and development company. Zinifex owns and operates two mines in Australia: Century Mine, which is a zinc and lead mine in Queensland, and Rosebery Mine, an underground polymetallic mine in Tasmania. Zinifex is focused on building a portfolio of exploration and development projects with projects in place in Australia, Canada, China, Mexico, Sweden and Tunisia. During the fiscal year ended June 30, 2007 (fiscal 2007), the Company discontinued its smelting and refinery segments. In February 2008, Zinifex’s subsidiary, Zinifex Australia Limited, acquired a substantial interest in Allegiance Mining NL. As of May 16, 2008, Zinifex Limited had acquired a 98% interest in Allegiance Mining NL.
